Needs the right conditions to work
I really wanted this product to work. Its very well made - german engineering. The concept is great - nothing to drill in the walls.
I read the other reviews, and understand why some like and some didn't like. I spent several hours over three days, and discovered that it depends on the surfaces you are installing it on (ceiling and floor). If you are putting this on carpet, with a textured ceiling - something for it to grab onto - it works. If you are putting it on a smooth concrete floor (in your garage, for example), or a smooth piece of wood (like in an unfinished ceiling in your garage), the stand doesn't grip tight enough and tends to move slightly. Under the weight of bikes, and with vibration from the garage door opener, it can fall over.

awesome product..... with a little attention.
The Topeak Dual Touch has worked out extremely well for me.. After reading the reviews and complaints I put in motion my own plan to stabilize. I've read that some people have had the misfortune of a fall. Not good! My intention was to remedy this by simple means. I've found my remedy is fool proof. It may not be for some, but for the handy it turns this product into a worry free product. And a not so difficult installation.. I've simply added a 12 inch - 2 layer circular medallion on the top level. 2 plys of wood, each 3/4 inch. One layer uncut and one layer cut out for the top footing to set in. Fixed with only 3 drywall screws to the ceiling. This fixes the two issues I've seen buyers fuss over. One - it allows for a snowshoe footing for the drywall ceiling - no punch thru or cracking. And two - it allows for the small but dangerous changes that occur in climate changes. Even if my Topeak loosens under full weight of 2 bikes It cannot break free.. Hope this helps..
Bike stand is easy to set up, and really does save space.
Unlike the leaning type of bike stands, this unit really does save a TON of space. I now have my road bike and my mountain bike in the bedroom of my small apartment, tucked behind the door. It is great. The nicest feature is the adjustability of the hooks, so you can hang just about any bike geometry. The padded hooks are kind to bike frames, too. And it took me about 10 minutes to set up, and was easy to move when I moved some furniture.

affordable option for apartment-dwellers
I use this rack in my apartment to keep my bikes away from rain and thieves. I like that this rack requires no wall-drilling and keeps bikes flat against the wall (rather than sticking out like those racks that hang bikes by their front wheels.) I'm very impressed with its stability, considering the rack itself is pretty light. There's only one contact point with the wall, which has a big, rubber end (like the two feet) so it won't scratch or mark. The feet stick to my carpeted floor quite securely, and my guess is that they'd work well on noncarpeted surfaces, too. The hooks that hold up your bike have a generous, rubbery coating, so they won't scratch up your frame. I keep two bikes on the rack, with my regular commuter on the lower one, and the rack is quite stable, even when only the upper bike is on it. For those of you who care, the rack is manufactured in China, so I'm sure Delta's making a fortune, but I had lots of trouble finding a U.S.-made alternative.

An Ok rack for those on the budget
Pros:
* It's hard to find a (two) bike storage solution that cheaper than this ($50)
* Decent quality and finish (but read on)
* Works on carpeted surfaces (check out the images I posted)
* Can be installed over a heater (with room to spare)
* Arms have padded hooks that hold my Kestrel (with a fairly unusual top bar x-section) OK. I think it'll work with any bike.

Cons: (most have been pointed out in earlier reviews)
* The 2-3 threads for the bolts to hold on to is definitely not enough for this weight bearing construction
* Almost impossible to take the bike off without changing position of the arms
* Arms are too long, thus the bike is too far from the wall taking up substantially more space than it would have taken if it just stood next to the wall without any rack. The other consequence is that the front wheel has too much room to turn, taking even more space. The latter might be more of a problem for front-heavy triathlon...
There are two versions -- this one is good
I needed two bike stands as my roommates and I have quite a few bikes together. After a while of online search, this one seems to fit the bill. I live in an apartment, and drilling on walls is not an option. So I order one from amazon right away, to see if it is really as good as the reviewers said.

A day later, after a stroll in a local major department store, I found apprantly the same one for significantly less! So I thought this is the first time I got something for a higher price than in amazon. I bought it from the store right away. I unpacked it, and found the quality not to be as good as reviewed. The paint seemed like it will peel, and in some places it looks badly welded. In fact in the process of assembly, the threads on some of the screws got so badly worn I had to exchange for another one at the store. The exchanged one I got still has a worn screw in the vertical tube, and other assorted quality problems. The stand is holding up only because of gravity. So I...

An Affordable Way to Store Your Bikes...
I am very pleased with this bike holder. The shipping was quick, and it's free! This is the perfect space saver for a small area. It was very easy to install; it took maybe 10 minutes. You just turn the pole and it secures itself to the ceiling and the floor, screw on the bike rests and you're done! No screws are necessary though the rack does have holes for them should you choose to attach it that way. We have two bikes on it and there's no problem with the weight. If you bump it the bikes will swivel a bit so there is a little give in it. The one piece of advice that I could give is to make sure that you are hitting a beam in the ceiling before you screw it in tightly. We almost made a hole in the ceiling before we checked. its ok
not too bad. Its really really easy to install, ships super fast. Only complaint I have is that the angle tighteners do not tighten the whole way, so basically they just rotate and the bike balences on them. I was not aware of this when I bought it. It looks good and is pretty sturdy. No problem holding two bikes, there's more than enough room. Just having the actual bike holder part not tighten is a upsetting.
Poorly Designed
Don't buy this hangar for anything other than sheets and towels. The product is very poorly designed, and poorly constructed. First of all, you cannot crank the the top and bottom screws tight enough to secure the rack, between the floor and ceiling, without bending the pole. In addition the pole comes in two sections with two differenct diameters - a small diameter chrome plated section that telescopes inside of a larger diameter painted piece, but the attachment cleats on the hangars can only be tightened over the larger diameter section, making the top section unusable. The weight of my bike was enough to rip the hangar off the chrome section, causing it to fall to the floor, even though I cranked the knob as tight as possible.

Very Sturdy, aesthetically pleasing.
We are really pleased with this bike stand. It is sturdy, simple, did not require mounting to a wall, and is aesthetically pleasing. IWe are frequent bike riders and are happy that our bikes are not cluttering up the front room anymore, but still accessible for rides multiple times per week.

Works, but leaves room for improvement
It does what it's supposed to, but not with much pizzaz.

The bike holding arms are softer tubular metal that bend easily. I have lightweight bikes on it, but doubt it would be trustworthy with a 35+lb cruiser or freeride MTB hanging on it.

Height adjustment is primitive but fairly straight forward and easy with pinch screw on the wrap-around dual arm. Unfortunately, the pinch bolt requires a wrench so it is not fast to adjust the height of the arms.

And unlike other designs, the arms of the bike holding part are one piece meaning they cannot be independently adjusted for height.

The stand is solid and fit together fine. However, if I were doing it over again, I probably would go with the Thule.

Great rack for apartments!
I searched high and low for a convenient way to store my bikes in my (very small) apartment. Without being able to drill holes in the wall I didn't have many options. This was an absolutely wonderful solution! I assembled it in less then 15 min and love it! It seems to stable and holds both my hybrid and my road bike with ease. It is a great product.
