Great Product and a Great price
I had ridden the Candy 1s all season with no trouble got my new hifi deluxe so had to have the orange . I know others would like a lil more adjustability but Ive had no problems with these pedals function or form . Give em a try.

So Far So Good
I have never had clip-less pedals before, but these are great. very easy to clip in and out and stay secure while riding up steep inclines. Seem to be very durable. I hope to be riding with these for a very long time.
Very Happy
Pedals arrived quickly and at a great price. I have ridden with the old style candy pedals for about 4 years and the bushings finally wore out. I like that the external wings are now an alloy material.

Lightweight, adequate support, easy in and out
This is a review after 1hr of riding with these pedals. I ride a recumbent in South Florida, have been using both SPD pedals with sandals for casual rides, and Look Keo Carbons with racing shoes for more rigorous workouts. Been a serious cyclist off and on since 1967. While the Look system always worked well for me on diamond frame bikes, this set up is not ideal for bents. Hot feet, unsure footing when stopped, and difficult click in and release are the main factors. SPD with sandals are more comfortable with cooler feet and safer stops and starts, but secure engagement and easy release proved illusive. After 4 plus years and over 12,000 miles of frustration on the bent it was time for something new. I decided to give Crank Brothers a try. I wanted to use sandals primarily. Since sandals flex for walking some sort of pedal platform is very helpful for support. The Candy series pedals offer a small platform not as big as other pedals, but the trade-off is light weight...

Solid grip & great float but no positive click in or out
Having not ridden in 13 years, at first I wasn't sure if I liked these because I had nothing to compare them to. After a few rides I switched these out for Shimano SPDs (PD-A530 with platform on one side and SPD on the other) that I got from Amazon and after just a short test ride of the Shimano, the Candy 3 pedals are much better than I had initially thought.

Where they crush the Shimano pedals is float. I'm pretty sure they both advertize 6 degrees of float. The Shimano SPDs actually begin to release at 6 degrees but at that edge you feel that you're there and the pedal is pushing back on you to get you to back to center. If you're not conscious of this and centering your foot when the pedal tells you too, I felt pressure on the side of my foot. The Crank Brothers pedals don't release until 15 degrees. I don't know why they call that 6 degrees of float but it's clearly more forgiving, more float and yet feels much more locked in than the SPD.

I wish the Candy...
Good quality pedals
A solid product, I had some lower end CB pedals on my bike but these are top notch. Well build and with replacable bearings they can last years. I pulled them appart and added ceramic grease, should be good for a while.

these are by far the best pedals ive ever had. at the price they cant be beat. for those that have had problems id have to question who they work for. not to say there cant be mistakes but my set is perfect.

Awful
I bought these pedals after a few years of riding with shot pedals with half the pins missing. After my first run on a super mellow trail, not only had i bent, the axle but one of the pins had been hit too, and the metal cracked on the pedal, leaving the pin fine. My old Kona pedals worked better than these. Never buying a crank brothers again.Never have i blown off pedals like i have with these either, both times within a day of each other, both the hardest crashes I've taken since i cant even remember. I cant even ride because of my last fall was so bad. Dont make the mistake of buying these,they're a terrible product.

Love it
replace my Shimano PD-A530 with this eggbreater 3. At first and second ride, clipping in feels harder than SPD but release is lot easier and quicker. after more ride i was getting use to it. overall, I Love it!

Update 5/9/2012
The pedal hold up excellent after 3,000+ miles on them. Believe it or not? I am getting a new set for my new road bike. Just getting into road bike this year so, I have to buy a pedal and after I try these road shoes, I design I go with MTB shoe instead. First I already have a expensive MTB shoe, second I getting use to the egg beater. and the last they are so light and looking cool :) I have about 300 miles on my new egg beater on the road bike and they just feel great!

Minimalism doesn't get much better
I upgraded to the Eggbeaters from Candy 2's, and while there isn't a LOT of difference between them, their differences are enough to be appreciated. While the Candies are basically an Eggbeater with a wing platform around them, I don't find that I miss the platform at all now. The Eggbeaters are even more minimalist than the Candies and should shed mud/grit even easier. They're a tiny bit lighter, but I'm not really concerned about that. Getting in and out of the Eggbeaters is about the same as with my old Candies, but since I installed the shim this time, they're even easier now.

My only complaints: the left cleat is malformed and allows a bit of vertical play that is felt whilst pulling on the up-stroke. Also, the anodizing on the spring is a nice deep red, but the anodizing on the dust caps is more of a raspberry color. Not a big deal, but noticeable.

Aside from those two details, I love these pedals.
Took a while but I love them
PROS:
These weigh half of SPDs. After steel spindles were swapped for Ti it was even more weight savings and could really feel the weight loss when spinning. Look nice.

CONS: I always had the SPDs set at the easiest release. Since they are not adjustable they were initially way too tight for me. Took a Long time to get used to these but now that they are broken in I wouldn't trade them for anything. Seem sturdy. I've hit a few rocks pretty hard and so far no issues.
