Garmin FR70 Fitness Watch with Heart-Rate Monitor (Pink)
Stay motivated and accomplish your fitness goals with FR70, a sleek fitness watch plus workout tool that tracks your time, heart rate and calories burned. FR70 sports a fresh new look and colors and a comfortable wristband.

Train Indoors or Out

In the gym or on the road, FR70 tracks all your workout data, including time, heart rate, calories burned and more. At the heart of its success is FR70's wireless ANT+™ technology, which allows it to connect to other ANT+ compatible devices, like the included heart rate monitor, optional foot pod, or even ANT+ compatible fitness equipment.

Monitor Your Health

You also can track weight, body fat, body water and six other measurements when using the FR70 with the Tanita BC-1000 body composition scale. The readings are stored on FR70, then automatically sent to Garmin Connect™ when in range of your computer.

Listen to Your Heart

FR70 also connects wirelessly to a heart rate monitor, providing instant feedback about how hard you're working. FR70 continuously tracks heart beats per minute and displays your heart rate zone, so you can monitor and improve your fitness level.

Go for Distance

With the ANT+ seamless wireless link, FR70 connects to the optional wireless foot pod, which tracks your distance and speed effortlessly, both indoors and out. Using advanced accelerometer technology, the foot pod collects and sends precise data about your movements, gathering distance and speed data.

Cross-Train

When paired with an optional speed/cadence sensor, FR70 tracks the speed and distance of your cycling workouts. The wireless speed/cadence sensor attaches securely to your bike and measures your pedaling cadence and wheel speed as you ride. You even can use it to train indoors because the sensor attaches to your rear wheel.

Sync and Share

Once your workout is done, FR70 automatically transfers data to your PC or Mac®, wirelessly when in range. No cables, no hookups. The data’s just there, ready for you to analyze, categorize and share through our online community, Garmin Connect.

What's in the Box:

  • FR70
  • Heart rate monitor
  • USB ANT Stick™

Great Functionality! Buttons hard to press. . .
Let me start by saying that I am an extremely picky consumer when it comes to evaluating a purchase. I do a lot of research before I pull the trigger on buying.

The FR70 delivers great functionality and performance in a watch that can be worn on a daily basis. The menus are very user friendly and the display is large and easy to read. The form factor of the watch is very well built and feels comfortable on the wrist. I wear this watch as my every day timepiece and have enjoyed it.

This watch has a timer, dual alarms, and a very useful interval feature among many others. The interval functionality is something I can foresee using very much and have not seen on other exercise watches that I reviewed. It allows for a user to program the amount of time or distance of active exercise along with the amount of time or distance for rest along with the quantity of intervals or sets that you will be performing in a workout. It even allows for you to mix the...

Not really an upgrade, but a great watch!
Just in case anyone is considering the FR70 as an upgrade to the FR60, I am pretty sure they are the exact same watch, with a few tweaks in style. I can't find any function that this one does that my old FR60 didn't do. On the other hand, I like the strap better, it's more comfortable and flexible and it has cute swirlys on it. I like the pink touches as well. My FR60 broke, hence I requested this one for Christmas. I agree, the buttons are hard to press, but that's the only thing I don't like. I use it with a footpod and once you calibrate it, it's pretty accurate. I LOVE having the instant pace--with GPS, even if the watch SAYS it's giving instant pace, it isn't, really. But with foot strike, it really is instant. I find this handy for sprinting, as well as to make myself feel better about my runs, because even if I only averaged 12 minutes a mile I can console myself that I did hit 6:30 pace for a bit. As a running watch, I would definitely recommend the FR70 over one of the...
Terrible design
I need a heart rate monitor for my daily bike rides.

I took the time to thoroughly read the reviews about this watch (among others on this site) and even though I saw a few negative ones about the buttons in particular, I figured those reviewers were most likely being too dramatic and that since I've had several monitors in the past I could probably handle it with no problem. WRONG. Very wrong. For the life of me I don't understand why Garmin would release a product design that is practically unusable. The buttons are extremely difficult to maneuver and you can indeed break your nails trying to change settings. I spent a week trying to adjust to this product before I gave up and decided to return it.

Works great with iPhone 5 and DigiFit app
I have been using the Digifit iPhone app for several months now and the first speed/cadence sensor I got for my bike was the Garmin GSC 10 Speed/Cadence Bike Sensor. that worked great except the magnets on the crank arm/pedal were troublesome. I did, however get some strong ("rare earth") little magnets and stuck those on the end of my pedal and that worked like a charm. The thing about the Garmin GSC10 is that it uses the ANT+ technology. It worked okay with my iPhone 3GS, but the battery life on that old phone didn't always last through my 2+ hour rides. So, I upgraded to the iPhone 5 and now I'm able to take advantage of the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE or Bluetooth 4.0) technology.

I got this Wahoo speed and cadence sensor that uses the BLE technology to connect to my iPhone 5 and send the data to the DigiFit app that I use. The device attaches just fine to my road bike. I was able to connect it...

Great sensor
I've been using ANT+ sensors for a long time. I recently started using my iPhone as my bike computer since I have to carry it anyway. I had been using the Wahoo Fitness bike case for my iPhone 4. The case has and ANT+ receiver that is powered by the iPhone. Battery life was not good. Fast forward to the upgrade to my iPhone 5 with Bluetooth 4.0 (same as the 4S but not the 4). I could ditch the big bulky battery hogging case and just use the native Bluetooth that was already running all the time on my phone. Big change in battery performance (in a good way). Also seemed to be more responsive of a sensor than the ANT+ version. Very happy so far!

Installation was simple and virtually identical to the Garmin units. Pairing was easy with Cyclemeter (iPhone app) and the whole thing works flawlessly.
Really good product, works well with iPhone
Just really happy with it. Using it with Cyclemeter software and it has been flawless. Really motivates performance onthe ride.
