So far, so good.
I bought this bike about 8 months ago and have ridden it an average of 300 miles a month (so 2400 miles). I put the bike together and I maintain it myself . The instructions were not much help, but I have a kindle book that was. As were youtube videos - I highly recommend those! As another reviewer mentioned, the box did have a hole, but the bike was fine. All of the parts were in the box. If you order this bike, you will need allan wrenches and screwdrivers, as well as a wrench.

I have had very few problems with the bike. But one thing that did happen was as I was turning, the handlebar grip slid off, as did my hand. My body went with it, and as I landed on my shoulder and my face, it could have had disastrous results. Fortunately it didn't, but I was surprised at how flimsy that was.

Another thing that isn't listed anywhere on the packaging or instructions, is that this bike requires replacement tubes with LONG schrader valves. These are more difficult to find...

Bike is pretty - wife loves the color. Rides well enough - switching gears could use some tuning, but that is probably to be expected - will do later, since it hits all the gears I need for now.

Bike was delivered in a box ~ 60" x 30" x 8". There was a hole through the box, but the bike itself was undamaged. Loose components were plastic tied together solidly and extra cardboard wrapping around various frame pieces to prevent chipping.

Assembly: 2/5
Never done this before - but managed w/ a call to Manufacturer.
Printed instructions were too generic - practically no value. Issues:
1 - handlebar stem didn't fit into head tube, due to head tube lip being a little "crushed" in
2 - one of the brake cables had disconnected from the hand-brake (other was fine).
3 - Description says Quick Release front wheel, but was delivered a bolt-on wheel.
4 - Right pedal screwed in clockwise, but left pedal...
low quality
The bike arrived and I assembled it myself. No instructions came, but ok - I figured out what went where. Not coming with assembly instructions is just an example on how much they care about consumers.

Anyway, I did not manage to tune the bike and the seat (height) did not adjust. Looked stuck. I thought it was me and took it to a specialist. First look, the guy refused: "I can't adjust this. Not this gear". I insisted and he said "ok, but I'll charge the 65 dollars even if the result is not good".

Following day, picked the bike at the store. Gear 3 (heaviest) worked, 2 did not, 1 did not. So I had a 7 speed bike instead of 21? No! Because on my right hand, only gears 5 and 6 worked. So I had a 2-speed bike.

A 2-speed bike whose seat does not adjust properly (because it's stuck).

Good: good tires, light weight frame, Amazon service when I returned the bike.
Bad: Engineering, overall combination of equipment, very noisy, can't use it as...

A good bike for the price
This bike has a 6061 aircraft quality aluminum frame with aluminum alloy for forks and a alloy steel rear triangle. Easy assembly with basic hand tools within 30 minutes. you will need a tire pump since the tires are only partially filled at the factory. The shifters needed some adjustment to get in the correct gear which was easy. The bike features quick release hubs, (front and rear), a quick release seat post and thumb styles shifters. The bike has a very smooth ride compared to a traditional hard frame and could be even smoother if the tires were switched to comfort style tires but that would limit the bike to paved surfaces. My son who is more of an avid rider that myself said this bike was better than his Diamondback Outlook.
Overall, if you are looking for an entry to mid level bike that is better than the run of the mill department store stuff. this might be your bike especially during the August clearance sale when they change year models/colors. The free shipping and...

Great bike and I can prove it!!!!!!
I bought 2004 model (same but red/white color). It was on clearance at Amazon for $229.00 total. I used it on the bike lane beside my house with the kids. With the gas sky rocketing I decided to carpool, so started to bike 1 1/2 each way to the subway station to meet my ride and lock my bike with heavy duty cable. There are about 50 to 100 bikes chained to serires of posts. The bike was great. Shifts were smooth, the dual suspension makes you feel that you are riding on air. After couple month my bike was stolen. From all the bike, some were better than mine with less thicker cable, the ..... choose my bike. I was dsapointed, espacially I was enjoying the ride and the smootheness of the bike. Now I'm using my old bike which no one will take even if I left it unlocked. I bought a new Master Lock Street Cuff and a very thick chain (both with warranties to replace the bike if the lock was broken).

Now, I'm waiting for my birthday in August and hoping the bike will go on sale...
Exactly as advertised
This bicycle is exactly as advertised. Assembly took about 30 minutes and I was up and running. The rear gears needed some slight adjusting, then everything worked great. For the price, this is a good bicycle. The one drawback is that it is quite heavy. Other than that I have no complaints.

Nice Bike!!

A;I am 50yrs old and have had many bikes.I love to ride,but I am not some spandex wearing hard core. I have shopped around(alot)and just got this bike today.5/31/11. Assembly was easy but you are going to need some tools.Mostly allen wrenches.(metric)You are going to want to tweak it for your needs anyways.It is way cooler looking than the photo.The top and lower bars are angular metal and look tough.It is a nice ride!Glides down the road.I am 5'9" and it is a nice fit.I could see anyone from 5'5"to 6'5" being able to tweak this to their needs.I had never seen this bike except for this one photo online.I took a leap of faith and bought it.I would do it again tomorrow.It looks more like a 4-$500 bike.My neighbor who rides $1200 Cannondale was quite impressed.This is not a trail bike!But a road bike that will handle any dirt road or 2 track.Great deal for the money!And VERY cool looking!

Very cheap construction, be careful
I bought this bike because it had good reviews, and was in my price range. I wanted to start commuting to work on a bike, but didn't want to spend $$$ on a bike that would end up in storage if I didn't take to riding to work. In any case, the bike arrived, and was pretty easy to assemble. When I had it put together, I showed it to a friend of mine who rides a lot to have him look it over before I got on the road. He found that the fork was put on backwards -- it came like this from the factory, and being a newbie as far as bikes are concerned, I had no idea that the fork was on backwards. In any case, we got the bike fixed, and I started riding it to work. The bike felt great -- the ride was smooth and comfortable. The gears and brakes worked well. Fast forward 10 days -- I was riding to work in morning, and the post that attaches the front brake to the frame just fell off. I was lucky to be standing at a traffic light when it happened, otherwise the brake pads would have gone into...
Shoddy and dangerous
DO NOT BUY THIS BIKE, OR ANY JEEP BIKE!

I rode this bicycle for two months before returning it. The first problem I encountered was a clicking pedal. Kent Bicycles promptly mailed me two new pedals, which I installed. Curious, I took apart the clicking pedal. The manufacturer left out some ball bearings. It was a bad omen.

When I put this bike away, I often lifted the front wheel. While turning freely, the front wheel made odd noises too, inconsistent with ball bearing operation. After getting a flat from a thorn, I took the back tire off and patched it. While I was at it, I removed the front wheel and tried to disassemble the axle and bearings. The nut securing the racer was so tight I couldn't remove it, but ruined a thin bearing wrench. The other bearing race was 13 mm, while this one was 13.5 mm. One side had 9 ball bearings, the other had ten. It gets much worse. After putting everything back together, the noise persisted. It was necessary to...

Excellent quality
The titan prime is excellent. The handle bars, brake handles and shifters are super nice and ergonomically correct. What feels the best is simply how light this bike is; I have picked up similar mountain bikes that weigh twice as much! I plan on adding an engine kit so I wanted a heavy duty bike, but it needed to be light. The Titan is perfect. One gear on the de-railer was off slightly, but I plan on taking it to a bike shop to make sure everything is accurate and correct anyways. I had a feeling this bike would ride excellent and it does. I was weary of the fact there aren't any online reviews.

I was looking at buying a GT or Trek, but to get a quality bike like this from GT or TREK it would cost about $600+. I'm 5'9 and the bike is perfect, but I noticed this bike does not come in different frame sizes so if your taller than 5'9" then this bike will probably not be good for you, if you are shorter the bike will still be comfortable.

Left Crank Became Loose
I've had this bike for a few months now. I mostly use it to take 10 mile treks on dirt roads in the Florida Everglades. Only guessing but I probably have near 100 miles on this bike. On my last trip the left crank nearly fell off. I'm glad I recognized the looseness before I lost the nut as I was 6 miles in from the road. I read elsewhere that the Truvativ Isoflow drivetrain on this bike is notorious for its left crank becoming loose.

For the rest of the bike, it has been holding up well. There are two pre-threaded holes on the lower part of the frame for an accessory attachment which I have used for a water bottle. I wished they would have provided another pair of holes on the upper part of the frame for an additional accessory.

Update 8/23/09: There was a clamp in the box that I did not realize until now that it goes under seat and pairs up with the height adjustment clamp to provide two attachment points for another accessory. Once attached the seat is no...

Pros: Great components for the price Cons: Heavy
For the quality components that this bike has: 7005 aluminum frame, Hayes Disc brakes, Fox Vanilla rear suspention, Manitou Axel comp 120mm, Shimano LX and Acera, and the truvative cranks, the price cannot be beat! The suspension is very smooth and provides a great ride over rocks and bumps. I love to use the bike for light downhill riding at the Sundance resort in Utah, and short cross country trips up on the Bonneville Shoreline trail. To add to my love for this bike is the Geometry. The bike does not bob like other full suspension bikes, which is important for a more enjoyable uphill riding experience when you need to throw your weight into your pedaling.

The only downside to this bike is its weight. It is a heavier bike, but when you consider it has 120mm (5 inches) of travel it seems a little bit easier to over look it. I think it weighs around 35 pounds. Names like Specialized and Gary Fisher may sell a similar bike that weighs around 24-28 lbs with similar...
Bad deal overall.
I bought this bike mainly because it had good reviews and it's wasn't too expensive. I made a mistake in doing so. When the bike arrived it looked great. After 50 miles of use and the left crank(peddle arm), fell off because the screw fell out. I put it back together making sure the screw was tight, but it keeps falling out every 20 miles or so. The gears on the bike don't switch smoothly and the front gear won't switch to first and the back gear won't switch to eight. The other parts seem ok. Barely rideable though.

Fit is crucial for comfort, control, and proper power and endurance on a bike. Here are some basic bike fit tips:

• Stand-over Height--To find out if a bike's overall height fits your body, measure your inseam. Next, determine how much clearance you'll need between your crotch and the top tube of the bike. For a mountain bike, you'll want three to five inches of clearance. A road bike should offer between one and two inches of clearance, while a commuter bike should have two to four inches. Compare the stand-over height for a given bike to your measurements (inseam + clearance) to determine the right bike height.
• Top Tube Length--You can measure your torso to get a good estimate of proper top tube length. First, make a fist and extend your arm. Measure from the center of your fist to the end of your collarbone (the part that intersects your shoulder). Next, measure your torso by placing a book against your crotch with the spine facing up. Measure from the spine to the bottom of your throat (the spot between your collarbones). Finally, add the two measurements (arm length + torso length), divide the number in half, and subtract six inches. This is your approximate top tube length. Compare this number to a bike's posted top tube length. You can allow for about two inches longer or shorter, as most bikes can be adjusted via stem length/height and saddle fore/aft position to make fine adjustments to the fit.
• Bikes for Women--Proportionally, women tend to have a shorter torso and longer legs than men. Bike makers design women's bikes that offer a shorter top tube and many comfort/cruiser bikes built for women may also provide more stand-over clearance.

Excellent Value for a low-end road bike
I am an avid cyclist who also owns 5 other bikes, including another higher end quicker carbon fiber/aluminum road bike, which is my basis for comparison. The Pro is the cheapest road bike available with integrated shifters/brakes (brifters). It is made in China. The Pro gives you an authentic and responsive road bike feel without the typical road bike price.

RIDE
The frame geometry, wheelbase, and riding position is agressive/speed oriented, rather than comfort/touring oriented. I have ridden over 1500 miles at the time of this writing and have taken it on city roads, serious rides, and on rollers. Recently, this bike was ridden on a 110-mile ride with no problems. It rides similar to my other road bike, except the handlebars are a smaller diameter and due to the steel fork, the front end is 1.75" taller. The handlebars have conventional bends rather than anatomic bends, which I prefer. The stiffness/suppleness of the frame/fork is comparable to my other bike...

Acceptable if on sale.
Just received my second one from Amazon. Returned the first one after sprocket ratchet mechanism failed four miles into my first ride. Prior to that, I was very pleased with the ride. I purchased the bike on sale from Amazon for less than half the list price, so I decided to exchange it instead of returning it. For typical price of 299, you would likely be better off finding a used bike of higher quality. For 170, I think I will be pleased, even if I have to deal with occasional problems. Amazon was of course wonderful in the exchange process, shipping a new one overnight and providing free return shipping of the defective bike.
Best entry level road bike ever!!!!!!!!
I had decided to buy the Denali Pro after i visited my local bike shop and became very depressed at the fact that the cheapest entry level road bike there was $629.00. So needless to say i did some research online and found the Denali Pro on EB*Y for around $249.00. After assembling the bike and spending a day fine-tuning all the gears and the brakes to how I like them (watch a couple of youtube videos on how to fine-tune bike gears and brakes---this helped me out a lot with getting that local bike shop fine-tuning without the local bike shop price tag), I took the bike out for a test ride (10 miles). I rode the bike on my local bike path and found it to be very responsive and comfortable to ride. The bike is very fast. I was able to keep the bike at a constant speed of 21 mph for the duration of my ride with little effort.
One draw back to the bike was the saddle. This comes as no surprise since the bike comes with a generic stock road bike saddle. I upgraded the saddle to a ARS...

Great Entry-Level Bike; Great Price
I'm a 32 year old male who bought this bike as my first effort to try out road biking. So far I have put about 1000 miles on the bike in the three months that I have owned it and now feel the need to give a full review of my experience with this bike so far. For you information, I purchased the 57cm bike, am exactly 6'0" tall, and weigh about 200 lbs.

First, I would like to address some common things that come up in the other reviews of this bike. There is much misinformation with regards to the right pedal making a clicking noise at the top of the pedal rotation. One reviewer, claiming to be a bike mechanic, has stated that the problem is due to a faulty crank. I'm an auto mechanic, not a bike mechanic, but I'm quite certain the problem has nothing to do with the crank. I have fixed and reduplicated the problem four times now to be certain that I have pinpointed the problem accurately. "A steal for the price."
I bought this bike back in Jan 11. Packaging for the bike was as expected, very solid. The set-up for the bike is nice and easy and required only basic tools to get her up and running within 10 minutes. So, with that that said, this is great for someone looking to buy an affordable, high quality, and stylish bike. Flashy colors, big tires, comfortable to ride, though maybe it is a bit on the heavy side, but nevertheless smooth, fast and simple and the flip-hub feature, which gives you the option of riding in fixed gear, is a great addition. I ride this in Austin, TX where there are a lot of hills and it is a little less than ideal, but very manageable once you become familiar with the area. So, maybe if you live in a hilly area and are new to biking then a single speed may not be what you are looking for (but to each their own!). Best bike for the price
I bought this bike a few weeks ago for $225 shipped to my front door (from another website). The price I paid for it and the amount of high quality hardware is amazing. I have already ridden this bike many times on dry, wet, damp, and muddy trails of all types of difficulties. I have also ridden on roads a little as well. The bike holds up very well on all obstacles. The tires could be a little more aggressive for the type of riding I do, but offer a good compromise for road driving with a continuous center rib. I am 5'11" and I have no complaints about the size. Overall the bike seems well built.
Pros:
1. Disc brakes (front and rear) work great even when wet.
2. Full Suspension (adjustable rear)
3. Flawless shifting (Shimano)

Great Value - Great Bike
Bike is a great value for $249. It has an excellent gear shift system, great brakes, comfortable dual suspension, decent saddle and very nice appearance. It needs much better instructions on how to center the front disk brake and stem/handle bars. The Jeep Cherokee Sport provides a very good ride on pavement and moderate trails. I have not taken it out on rugged trails because I do not have the necessary stamina and not because I do not trust the bike. Shipment box had one hole in it resulting in a small scratch but otherwise the bike shipped quite well through FedEX. I gave my much more expensive road racer bike to my son because of the harsher ride and bent over rider position which at my age was now uncomfortable. I enjoy riding this bike much more than the racer even though it is a little heavier at 38.5 lbs. I would highly recommend this bike but believe maufacturer needs to supplement assembly instructions on how to center and adjust the disc brakes.
Pros and Cons.
Let start off on the Good side. The bike rides Great. I live in the California mountains and I wanted something that can be use on mountain trails. Most bikes where going around $250 with front disk brake. This one had both disk brakes for the same price. Plus full suspension which was a plus. With 24 Gears it easy to climb Mountain trails.

The Cons. Like the others said. The manual sucks. The week before I payed for the bike I got my nephew a new 20" BMX mongose bike. Nothing to do with mountain bike. I tried useing the Jeep Cherokee manual but it But the Mongose manual was more detailed then the Jeep Cherokee Manual. It had clear instructions for adjustments.

Would I buy this bike again. Yes.

Very good, not perfect, but price makes it a great deal!
Putting it together:

The bike came with the typical assembly needed for a bike shipped in a cardboard box. Attach the steering column, front tire, seat, pedals, reflectors. Then adjust brakes and fine tune gears. No big deal. Several different size allen wrenches, open end wrenches, pliers, and a screwdriver were needed. It was not hard, but if you've never put a bike together before it might seem like a lot of work, and you still might wind up at a bike shop for proper gear and brake adjustments.

Initial thoughts:

It is a nice looking bike and since road bikes are pretty much only sold in bike shops, most people will assume it cost a LOT more than it really did. A friend asked if I spent "over $1,000" on it.

I have no problems with build quality. The welds look good, the bike seems solid, the seat tube fit fine. I was surprised how well the frame fits my 6'0" size.

Fantastic bike for the price
Let me start with some history. Thirty years ago I worked a summer job as a Schwinn bicycle mechanic. I loved that job. In the process I assembled a ton of bicycles. I also purchased a Schwinn Continental 10 speed. Thirty years ago that was a great bike. Even by today's standards it would be a cool bike. That bike was stolen in 1982ish.

Move forward to 2006. I started getting the itch to ride a bicycle again. I tooled out to WalMart and bought one of those RoadMaster MtFurys for 53 bucks and rode it everyday. I decided I wanted a road bike since I was riding farther and longer, week by week. So, I ordered the 63cm GMC Denali from Amazon.

The bike arrived through the US mail in a box that looked like they dragged it behind the mail truck for a few miles. I was worried that something was broken. Nevertheless, I opened er up and the bike was fine. They packed it in a manner that allows it to take a bit of a beating in shipping. Since I was an old...
Diamond In The Rough?
The Denali is typical of mass produced, imported, department store bicycles. It will need some tinkering and adjustments, the extent of which will depend upon your experience, tools and desires. Most riders opting for this road bike will want to do things like true the wheels and adjust the brakes and derailleurs. They are close out of the box but need tweaking. Aesthetically, it is pretty with its anodized blue look, accented with black and silver stickers. The wheel stickers make the bike look expensive, but the metal name plates on the frame are a bit tacky and look like they're about to fall off (although you probably couldn't pry them off if you wanted to). Newer models don't have the name plates.

Problem areas on my Denali were the brake lever hoods (which began splitting after a few day's use), less than desired stopping power, and a bottom bracket lock ring that needed tightening. Installing upgraded levers with better hoods eliminated the splitting, and better...

easy assembly
It took all of 30 minutes to put the bike together. First thing I did was bring it to a bike shop and have them go through it. A well spent $30.00 in my opinion. My wife and I went out for a short ride to acclimate ourselves to the bikes. We had a good time. The shifting is solid and the brakes are firm. This bike seems to not want to be pedaled since it can coast for a long time. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a nice solid bike.

Arrived unusable, partially refunded but not enough
The bike came packaged with the handle bars crammed into the spokes which bent the front wheel significantly during shipping. The bikes looks nice sitting on it's kick stand but it is unrideable so I can't tell if there is any other problems. Very disappointing.

Update, next day: After a chat with customer service I was given the option of disassembling the bike, repackaging and shipping the entire bike back for a new one. All for a bent wheel. Or option 2 was to receive a partial refund of $30.00. I chose option 2 to avoid repackaging and shipping the whole bike back, and I will go to a bike shop to find a new wheel I guess. Still kind of a bummer.

I might bump this review up a star if the bike shop doesn't take me to the cleaners.

Update, later that day: According to every bike shop in my county it is going to cost me at least $75 to replace a 26" front wheel with quick release and disc brake. So, minus the $30 partial refund that Amazon...
Bought three for my sons
I bought three of these bikes for my triplet sons' birthday. They arrived well-packaged and there were very few parts to assemble. Each bike took about 30 minutes to put together. The bikes are great and well worth the money. I went to three bike shops before I bought these, and they seem to be a better quality for about $125 less for each bike (when you have to buy 3 bikes, that makes a big difference). A few slight adjustments to the gears and brakes, and they were ready to ride. My favorite feature is the disc brakes...they are smooth and stop at high speeds very well. The bikes are light and the gears transition well. I had read that the bikes are a little on the small side for each frame size, which is one of the reasons I bought them. I got the small frame which should be 16 inches. My sons are about 4'10" and the frame fits well with the seats in a low position and they just about clear the bar when standing. Based on this, others may want to get one size larger then they...

A sound investment!
At last I have come through the gauntlet of mountain bike buying, much scarred, but also much wiser!
I will try to briefly explain why I consider the Schwinn Rocket is a victory for me, and hopefully save other people much grief in choosing a "good" bike.
My experience in mountain bikes goes back to the early days of mountain bikes, but is based more realistically in the biking needs of four growing boys, and their middle aged parents. Like most I have largely purchased off-the-shelf box store bikes. Like most I have had more negative than positive experiences. I attempted over the years to upgrade to better bikes from the box store, but with little real world improvement. I have used bikes on the higher end, but cannot hope to buy such bikes for six people. What I wanted was a bike that would cost no more than twice what the box store offered. Decent bike, but a defect and Terrible Customer Support
The good:
* This bike arrived undamaged, without missing parts, and with all sub-assemblies assembled properly. Final assembly was easy, and the gold swing-arm looked much better than the gray swing-arm in the photo. The suspension feels very nice, and the soft-tail makes a huge smoothness difference when riding. The shifters work well. I bought the "Large" size". I am 6' 6", and I needed a longer seat post, and a Delta Stem Rise to raise the handlebars (up three inches).

* A neighbor of mine who is more into bikes than I took this bike for a spin last night, and really liked it. He thought the handling was very good.

* I think this bike is reasonable value, and functions very well.

The bad:

So far, so good
Finding a good quality mountain bike that won't cost an arm & a leg is a difficult task. I didn't know a lot about mountain bikes but wanted to replace my boyfriend's bike for Christmas. He'd had a Giant Iguana bike which he'd gotten for only $35 at a garage sale 10 years ago. The only thing he insisted on having was thumbshifter gears, not gripshifters because the bike would switch gears whenever he'd stand up to ride uphill. No doubt, Giant bikes are awesome, but new they were $1000 and up.
