Good value
My 7 year old son loves the bike. Postives: the 20" wheels are a good fit for him, the mountain bike style is much to be desired by my son, frame is solid, set up was 15 minutes, attractive colors, great price, chain guard so the kids pants to get ripped up in the gear. Negatives: hand brakes are a little difficult for my son to get a good grip on (he'll grow into it), gears are a little cheap. Gear 5 & 6 rub the chain against the tire. Good value when you look at what the bike has to offer vs. the price.

Box shredded, takes a lot of work
This is my second Pacific bike ordered for my kids. Both times, the box is holey and shredded, and I am astounded there are no missing or bent parts. Here are the problems:
It takes a lot of skill to adjust the brakes and gears properly. The instruction book is thick and generic, not specific to this model. I am confident in my bike servicing skills, anybody who buys this should be.
The whole thing is carefully twist-tied together (no lost parts), but this time the adjacent parts rubbed off an area of paint on the frame-- no big deal, but not great.
The pedals were labelled improperly: 2 right pedals, but one had the appropriate reverse threads for the left pedal.
The other bike I bought 2 years ago has held up well.
So in sum, this is a good deal, but if you could get the same deal for $20 more assembled that would be worth it (but the assembly at a Toys R US might be shakey). A dedicated bike shop would cost more, but would do the best job.
Not up to snuff
I bought 2 of these bikes for my twin boys. The shipping was great and they arrived unscathed, but one of the front frame nuts was missing...Off to the hardware store. My wife and I put the bikes together, but I had to adjust the brakes and the derailer on both bikes. After the boys rode the bikes on the first day, the chain kept getting stuck on 6th gear. I had to keep adjusting. Besides the components being of cheap quality, the frame and tires were fine.[...].

Great bike for the money
I bought this bike for my son. I am an extremely experienced cyclist and bike mechanic, so the challenges I overcame with this weren't too serious for me. For example, the bike I received was missing a front axle nut. I replaced the entire axle with a hollow one and a quick release but you could imagine that kind of thing being a pain for a normal person. Some details weren't to my liking and I fixed them. I sawed off a bit off the seat post and a bit off the handlebar ends. This allows the seat post to be set as low as possible for my little rider. I'm no absurd hipster with the handlebar cutting, but having sensible shoulder width bars is always good and these were the normal too-big-for-an-adult mountain bike width. Definitely not ideal for a kid. The wheels were pretty true, but I still felt it necessary to true them up. One of the cable housing routings was about 20% too long and I cut that to the right size. Then it started to look like a bike I'd like to own if I was a kid. One...

Pacific Exploit Boy's Mountain Bike
This is a good bike and my 8 year old really likes it. However in hind sight I should have purchased from my local bike shop. Since I am not a bike mechanic and have no interest in becoming one, the money saved by ordering via Amazon was lost in getting the bike 'into production'. First, the bike arrived quickly and was hidden in the garage for assemble on Christmas Eve. That is the first flaw in my plan. Upon opening the box on Christmas Eve I found to my horror that it was missing one of the 'nuts' that holds the front wheel to the spokes. It was definetly not in the place, as the other three bolts were and a through search of the box (ripping it to shreds) did not render the missing bolt.

The instructions were extrremly generic applying to many many different makes and models of bikes and was useless in trying to help me assemble. So, unless you can assemble a bike without any useful instructions and have a shop full of extra bolts, I would avoid this...

The bike is a nice bike with 21 gears, pretty good for on + off road rideing. It's ok 4 kids around 10-12 or 13.It has a cool paint job and handeles amazingly.

Nice BUT.....
The brakes will make you crazy trying to adjust them correctly! It is otherwise a nice looking, well functioning bike.
Very disappointed
Very poor bike, I would avoid. This is one of those "If it looks too good to be true it probably is" items. We bought this bike because my son needed a bike for a couple of week, thought the price looked good for that. NOT SO! Within 1 week of light riding the brakes had gone bad, bearing had failed, and the front tire came bent to start with. Plus the bike is way too heavy for any kids to ride on anything but flat terrain. To fix all the issues would cost more than the bike cost new 1 week before.

Painful and expensive lesson, keep searching for others bikes so this doesn't happen to you.

In general, bikes are broken down into three major categories:

• Mountain Bikes--With their larger tires, hill-friendly gearing, and upright position, mountain bikes are very popular for all types of riding, both on pavement and off. Mountain bikes that are designed specifically for rugged trail use typically feature a suspension fork. Some may have rear suspension, as well. A quick change of the tires on any mountain bike--even one that you use regularly on trails--adds to its versatility and makes it a worthy street machine.
• Comfort/Cruiser Bikes--For tooling around on bike paths, light trails, or for cruising a quiet beach-side lane, comfort/cruiser bikes are the ticket. The Right Price
A bike's price boils down to three essentials: frame materials, bike weight, and component quality and durability.

• Entry-level--You'll find a wide range of comfort and cruiser bikes in this category, as well as some lower-end mountain bikes and road bikes. Most will have steel frames and components that are designed to last for several years with frequent use.

The Right Size
Fit is crucial for comfort, control, and proper power and endurance on a bike. Here are some basic bike fit tips:

• Stand-over Height--To find out if a bike's overall height fits your body, measure your inseam. Next, determine how much clearance you'll need between your crotch and the top tube of the bike. For a mountain bike, you'll want three to five inches of clearance. A road bike should offer between one and two inches of clearance, while a commuter bike should have two to four inches. Compare the stand-over height for a given bike to your measurements (inseam + clearance) to determine the right bike height.
• Top Tube Length--You can measure your torso to get a good estimate of proper top tube length. First, make a fist and extend your arm. Measure from the center of your fist to the end of your collarbone (the part that intersects your shoulder). Next, measure your torso by placing a book against your crotch with the spine facing up. Measure from the spine to the bottom of your throat (the spot between your collarbones). Finally, add the two measurements (arm length + torso length), divide the number in half, and subtract six inches. This is your approximate top tube length. Compare this number to a bike's posted top tube length. You can allow for about two inches longer or shorter, as most bikes can be adjusted via stem length/height and saddle fore/aft position to make fine adjustments to the fit.
• Bikes for Women--Proportionally, women tend to have a shorter torso and longer legs than men. Bike makers design women's bikes that offer a shorter top tube and many comfort/cruiser bikes built for women may also provide more stand-over clearance.

I got this bike for hunting remote areas i had a hard tail bike and wanted a full suspension bike.This bike is a good buy for the price well made and the hardware is of good quality. One thing that disappointed me was the bike did not come with kenda cortez tires as stated on product description so i upgraded them myself other than that good bike for the mountain bike hunter.

Great bike for Hitting the trails!!
I have own this bike for 4 years now, and its a great bike for hitting the trails and going off road. I was surprised multiple times as i have wiped out on this bike about five times and yet the bike has received nearly no damage. The bike is still in great shape and can handle hills, jumps, and rough trails very well. The only problem i have had is the gears. The need to be twiked other wise they will skip on you. Other wise i do recommend this bike for mountain biking and hitting trails.
Decent entry-level dual suspension bike
Same bike as the Mossy Oak which costs $120 more. Well constructed all aluminum frame (aggressive geometry). Bike can be upgraded as finances and skill level permits. Front brake and fork should be replaced ASAP!
Overall, good investment for the price.

buyer beware!
My seven year old son really wanted a mountain bike like Dad's, when I found this I was thrilled and so was he. I should have noticed there were no reviews.
The bike arrived in record time, less than 24 hours after ordering. The packaging looked like UPS dragged it all the way from San Francisco to Baltimore. Holes, crushed and stank of gasoline. I would have sent it back straight away only my boy saw it and was heartbroken at the thought. There didn't appear to be any damage so I assembled the bike.
Assembly was simple enough and the documentation was fine however, the parts of the bike that I wasn't supposed to assemble were in rough shape. I had to adjust the derailer, adjust the the brake pads and reset brake tension. I also found the wheels are not true and my bike shop recommended replacing the brakes completely.
So after spending $112 I spent another $50 getting new brakes on a new bike, trueing the wheels and sorting out the derailer.

Great bike for the price
Purchased this bike this past summer and it suited our son perfectly! Very easy to put together. Ships free on Amazon and we haven't had any problems with it. While bike-hunting, the visual appeal wasn't as important as the actual price/functionality of a bike that our son could ride on around town (paved and dirt roads). We were happily surprised at how nice the yellow/black contrast is on the bike.
Possibly the worst bike you can imagine

It's made of plastic bits that break off easily.

It came with a rim that was out of true.

Absolutely pure junk. Both brake leavers broke off during my son's first ride. I spoke with customer service and they told me, "the brake leavers are made of plastic and are fragile." Fragile?!?!? I mean this is a BOYS OFF-ROAD BIKE. It weighs more than my mountain bike and it's FRAGILE?!?!

Just don't buy one.

Everything would have been fine if the bike was not defective - broken brakes and gears. The cost of fixing was half of the bike price.

Cheaply made bike - you get what you pay for
The bike came unassembled and it was okay to assemble if you have an engineering background! The tire went flat immediately and the back brake pad broke right away. I would not recommend this bike. Pay a little more and get a better quality bicycle. We have spent more time fixing it than riding it.
