Took a spill, worth every penny
I am a weekend warrior mountain bike rider who rides with friends on easy trails for fun. One day I got invited to a 53mile all off road journey of a mountain bike ride. I bought these and am glad I had them. I took a low speed steep decent and lost control over lava rocks and tumbled down the hill. Judging by the damage to the matching elbow guards and these pads, I may have needed serious medical attention if I were unprotected.

I do not know how they fare in high speed street slides, but for my mountain biking downhills runs, these are great. They do not seem to cause fatigue while riding up hill, I trained a few weeks in them to be sure no blisters or pinching occurred. They do not rotate or slide in an accident, but again, I have not been in a high speed accident yet, just tumbles.

Good.
For long day, 70 Km a day to work is enough for me to use them, protects from the cold, and this happened to me, i have a F650GS twin and off road the bike works different, so, the first off road day, i used the front brake in a slow speed monover, and sliped in the stones, unproper tires, and hit the ground with all my left body side, and i felt like landing in a bed, really good, buy it now.
EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!
These knee/shin guards are exactly what I was looking for. I took a nasty downhill fall about 2 miles into the woods this past summer and am pretty sure I suffered a hairline fracture to my shin. I went into shock from the excruciating pain and had to lay there for a while because if I tried to stand I got overwelmingly dizzy. The 2 mile walk out of the woods was horrible. I couldn't ride for 2 months. I should've probably waited longer but I love riding and couldn't wait to get back on the trails. I bought these out of paranoia that another wreck might do me in. I was concerned about how these would fit and I must say they are comfortable with pants or shorts and are very tough. They are not bulky don't slip as I ride like I've seen as a CON in other reviews of other similar products. I haven't wrecked since but better safe than sorry. Also, since I've been wearing these it has boosted my confidence on the trail, knowing that if I take a spill I won't fracture my leg from...
