great set , stiff stopping power
These are a great set of calipers. I have them on my commuter bike and ride the hills in San Francisco with consistent braking.
My only complaint is that they are a little expensive. The high end Tektros are as good, but possibly cheaper. But these are WAY better at braking and progressive control than any cheap chinese brake like the low-end Tektros, though.
Are they as good as Ultegra or Dura-Ace? I have both on other bikes. Answer: no,
but almost! of course they are also much heavier.
But the design is great, the mechanics are great compared to almost any dual pivot
caliper I've seen

Excellent stopping power
Great quality breaks at an unbelievable price. I can now lock the wheels on my Peugeot (no mean feat for a 250# rider!) at will. Look great, too. Fit and finish leave something to be desired for me. What's with the little piece of black tape on each caliper? Sure it's there for a good reason, but it's not the most elegant solution. Also, I needed to modify my bike to allow the arms to reach the rims, but this is likely a result of me riding a 30 year old frame. A few minutes with a dremel and good to go.
Great, affordable upgrade over the stock Tekros I had.
I bought an Apex- equipped bike but it came with entry level Tekros brakes that I thought had very weak stopping power. I wanted to buy better brakes and was considering getting Sram Rival or Force brakes but I saw that the Apex were very inexpensive and I took the plunge. I love these brakes. They are lighter, look better and most importantly, they give you plenty of stopping power so you don't feel as unsure when you descend because you know that these brakes work great.
