So Far a good case for road bike
Bought this for shipping/traveling with a Cervelo 56cm bike. Have to say that so far have only minor complaints which seem universal to most of the other cases I have read about. Mainly that the strap/buckle system seems suspect, but with that said it has been no issue thus far. TSA will open the case so don't get carried away with extra tape on an airline trip. Maybe 4 pieces of standard packaging tape over the existing buckles for added security. Would like to see the company build in more than just the one velcro strap for the added security. I bought this case from Preformance Bike. It is their "Team" case and it appears to be the same B & W case listed here on Amazon. The Preformance case is made by B & W and did not include separate bags for the wheels (whatever). Have shipped it once via UPS and once via Southwest Air. It cost $125 UPS with the extra $3000 of insurance and $50 Southwest for the oversize. If it is your "3rd" bag it would cost an addditional $50 ($100...

Great Design, bad latches. if not for TSA, and bozo ramp workers, a good product
This is a great designed bike case. I just purchased and used for an international trip that had 3 flight legs over 10,000 miles. If not for the wacko airline ramp workers and the TSA bozos, the case could be locked and no worries. However because one must leave the case unlocked in the USA, it is difficult to get the latches to align and then snap shut. When I retrieved my baggage, one of the side latches was open which was an initial concern, but after opening and inspecting, all was fine. Of course, I found the TSA note advising they had inspected it. Guess they got their jollies. Probably the first one that they had seen in Savannah, Georgia.
I am guessing that the ramp workers put it on the bottom in the cargo space and then piled on other suitcases rather than keep it standing up. The case is not designed to be piled on to, its just too big and the structure gets a bit gangly. so, the aluminum frame was subtly warped as result and may be the reason why it is...
Excellent "suitcase" for a bike
I call this a suitcase, because that's what it looks like and that's what it feels like when the bike is packed away neatly inside. Far easier to maneuver than the Thule crates that we have. These cases come with spacers for the front forks and rear "forks", as well as an oversized piece of high density foam that fits nicely over the chain ring. The best part of this case is that, in some instances, the airlines have not charged us for checking a bike. So long as the weight was below 50 pounds (22.5 kg), they were not concerned.
An interesting feature of these cases is their "stackability" - the product image shows groves on the sides of the case. Turns out that these allow one case to nest on top of another, so that when piled in a van, the top cases do not slide off of the case on the bottom. And given the construction, we had no concerns about stacking these four cases high (check with the manufacturer for correct stack limits).
